You don't have to be a complete expert in the topic, you just have to be motivated to speak about it with accuracy and enthusiasm and know more than most of the other people also interested in this topic. Our good friend Othniel Seiden, MD teaches "Sex in the Golden Years" and sells that book as the textbook for his class, but all the rest of his many books* are available after class has finished. All topics are fair game! * BoomerBookSeries.com |

Writer's Summit Tip #16:
Make sure your editor is good at pointing out ambiguities in your text.
For example, "Tom, Dick and Harry went into the store. He bought a book."
Which "HE" is being referred to? This points out one of the many reasons authors can not edit their own books. Authors are just too familiar with the story line and have trouble seeing flaws like this. The author knows which 'HE' because he wrote him there. The reader, however, may not share the exact vision and needs some clarification.
